About Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a special procedure where a continual beam of radiation is used for evaluation of certain parts of the body. Often an oral contrast agent such as barium is administered at the same time to aid in the evaluation of the esophagus, stomach and intestine. Radiologists are highly trained so as to minimize the radiation dose received by the patient during any exam.
