About Bone Densitometry and Body Composition Analysis
Bone densitometry uses a very low dose x-ray evaluation for osteoporosis, most commonly performed in the spine and hips. Bone densitometry is used as a screening tool to identify individuals at increased fracture risk and a follow up to evaluate efficacy of therapy.
Body Composition Analysis provides further information to a standard bone densitometry examination including an analysis of body fat and muscle mass.
What To Expect
Using very low dose x-rays, the bone density machine will scan your body to determine bone mineral content as well as allow calculation of percent body fat and muscle mass.
